Gak? Angle? What is this?

Image
In 2017, many Korean teeangers started to say "Gak" after saying the things that they want to do. So, what does "Gak" mean? Gak in Korean means angle. An angle contains degrees in number. Therefore, Korean teenagers used this word to show that they want to do certain things. For instance, if a boy wants to eat hamburgers for his dinner, he would say to his friends "Hamburger Gak?". The word "Gak" is commonly used between Korean teenagers and it is important to note that the word is not offensive or bad in any ways. It is just used to show what people want to do at the moment.

Why K-POP?

Image
There are many different aspects of Korea but why do I emphasize K-pop? What are some influences of K-pop in Korean teenage culture? To begin with, K-pop is not just all about music. It includes fashion, style, and music at the same time. In Korea, K-pop stars are also called as idols. It is nothing religious but they are referred as idols because they act as role models of many teenagers. K-pop stars do not just provide music but they lead the fashion trend that many teenagers and young people can follow. By becoming familiar with these K-pop stars' looks, you can adjust to the Korean environment better and also understand certain actions better. From my blog, you will be able to find some examples of how K-pop stars affected the Korean culture.

Jawsfood

If you are new to Korea, you have to try Jawsfood. Jawsfood sells food like TTeok-bokki (spicy rice cake) and Kimbop. These types of food are very popular among teenagers because of the cheap price. Also, they are usually around Korean public high/middle schools, so you will be able to spot them easily. Even though there are many different places that sell Tteok-bokki and kimbop, I strongly recommend Jawsfood because they have the cup-rice which is slightly different from kimbop. The cup-rice contains cheese, rice, and ham; it is very delicious. Also, their tteok-bokki is spicy in a delicious way. Some places make tteok-bokki way too spicy and it is difficult to eat. However, the Jawsfood controls the level of spiciness perfectly! Try to find the logo below when you are in Korea!

Mom's Touch

Where do Korean teenagers often go to eat? Teenagers all around the world love fast food restaurants. Obviously, Korean teenagers visit McDonald and Burger King. However, Mom's Touch is a very popular place that is currently spreading out in Korea. They are also fast food restaurant but they sell both chicken and burgers. Mom's Touch burgers contain very thick chicken and also delicious cheese. If you like chicken more than beef, this would be a perfect place.
